ஈதுல் அழ்ஹா ஹஜ்ஜுப் பெருநாளை முன்னிட்டு அவர் விடுத்துள்ள வாழ்த்துச் செய்தியிலேயே இவ்வாறு குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
அதில் மேலும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளதாவது:-
"நபி இப்ராஹீம் (அலை) மற்றும் இஸ்மாயீல் (அலை) ஆகியோரின் அளப்பரிய தியாகத்தை நினைவுகூறும் ஹஜ்ஜுப் பெருநாளைக் கொண்டாடும் சகல முஸ்லிம்களுக்கும் எனது பெருநாள் வாழ்த்துக்களைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கின்றேன்.
தியாகத்தின் அடையாளமாக விளங்கும் இத்தினத்தில் நாங்கள் உழ்ஹிய்யாக் கடமை உள்ளிட்ட எமது பணிகளை மிகவும் கவனமாக முன்னெடுக்க வேண்டும். உழ்ஹிய்யா கடமையை நிறைவேற்றும் போது நாட்டின் சட்ட ஒழுங்கு விதிமுறைகளை மீறாமல் அதனை கடைபிடிக்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கின்றேன்.
தியாகம் என்பது அன்று முதல் இன்று வரை முஸ்லிம்களது வாழ்வில் ஒரு அங்கமாக இருக்கின்றது. இலங்கையில் கூட தொடர்ந்தும் நாங்கள் பல இன்னல்களுக்கு மத்தியில் பல தியாகங்களை செய்துள்ளோம். பல கோடி சொத்துக்கள், பல உயிர்களையும் இழந்துள்ளோம்.
தற்போதும் முஸ்லிம்களின் உரிமைகளை இல்லாமலாக்க பேரினவாதிகள் திட்டமிட்டு செயற்பட்டு வருகின்றனர். எதிர்காலத்திலும் நாங்கள் பல்வேறு சவால்களையும் பிரச்சினைகளையும் எதிர்நோக்க வேண்டிவரும். இவ்வாறான நிலையில் நாங்கள் ஒற்றுமையாகவும், புரிந்துணர்வுடனும், தியாக சிந்தையுடனும் செயலாற்ற வேண்டும்.
ஒற்றுமையே எமது சமூகத்தின் பலமாகும். எமக்கெதிராக வரும் சவால்களை முறியடிக்க வேண்டுமாயின் எம்மத்தியில் ஒற்றுமை இருக்க வேண்டும். அந்த ஒற்றுமைக்காகவும் உலக முஸ்லிம்களின் நிம்மதிக்காகவும் இந்நாளில் பிரார்த்திப்போம்," என்று அஸாத் சாலி வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்.
In his greetings on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha, Azath Salley, the leader of the National Unity Alliance and former Governor of the Western Province said that we all should pray in this day to ensure lasting peace in the country and to safeguard the rights of Muslims.
"I convey my greetings to all Muslims celebrating the Hajj festival commemorating the tremendous sacrifices of Prophets Ibrahim and Ismail (peace be upon them) as an act of obedience to Allah's command" he said.
On this day of the symbol of sacrifice, we must carry out our tasks carefully, including when fulfilling the traditional Udhiyyah, we must abide by the rules and regulations of the country.
Sacrifice has been a part of the lives of Muslims ever since. Even in Sri Lanka we have made many sacrifices in the midst of adverse conditions.
We have lost many crores worth of assets and many precious lives. It's quite apparent that the chauvinists are still exploring ways to deny the rights of Muslims.
In the future we may face many challenges and problems. In order to overcome this situation we must act in unison, understanding and with solid sacrificial spirit.
Unity is the strength of our community. If we are to overcome the challenges that befall on us we have to be in solidarity, especially among individuals with common interests.
Let us pray for that unity and solidarity for the relief and peaceful existence of the world's Muslims," he concluded.
