The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has once again launched a special initiative that provides a rare opportunity for 1,000 Muslims from around the world to perform Umrah at his personal expense.
Under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program for Umrah, which is being implemented for the Hijri year 1448 AH, the first phase of the initiative has commenced with the arrival of 250 guests from 16 Asian countries in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The guests represent a diverse range of Asian nations, including Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Japan, South Korea, and several others. During their stay, they will perform Umrah in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, while also visiting a number of sites of significant Islamic historical and spiritual importance.
Program to be Conducted in Four Phases
The Guest Program for this year will be carried out in four phases, with each phase welcoming participants from different regions of the world. In total, 1,000 guests will be hosted and given the opportunity to perform the sacred pilgrimage of Umrah through the initiative.
King Salman Covers All Expenses
One of the most remarkable features of the program is that all expenses are fully covered by King Salman personally. This includes international airfare, accommodation, local transportation, meals, medical services, and all arrangements related to the pilgrimage.
As a result, selected Muslims from various countries are able to perform Umrah without any financial burden. The program particularly benefits individuals who have distinguished themselves in the fields of community service, education, religious work, and humanitarian activities.
Opportunity to Learn About Islamic Heritage and Modern Development
The initiative is organized and implemented by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. Beyond the spiritual journey of Umrah, the program also offers guests an opportunity to learn about Saudi Arabia’s rich Islamic heritage, culture, history, and the Kingdom’s modern development initiatives.
A series of educational and cultural activities have been arranged to introduce participants to the historical significance of Islam’s holy sites, as well as the remarkable progress and transformation taking place across Saudi Arabia.
Strengthening Brotherhood Among Muslims Worldwide
The program plays a significant role in strengthening brotherhood, unity, and mutual understanding among Muslim communities around the world. It also enhances relationships and cooperation among religious scholars, social leaders, educators, and humanitarian figures from different countries.
Benefiting Thousands from More Than 140 Countries
Since its inception, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Program has benefited thousands of pilgrims from more than 140 countries worldwide.
Over the years, the initiative has hosted a wide range of distinguished guests, including Islamic scholars, university professors, community leaders, humanitarian workers, journalists, and accomplished personalities from various professional fields, enabling them to undertake the sacred journey of Umrah.
Widely Appreciated Across the Muslim World
The program has received widespread appreciation and recognition throughout the Muslim world and is regarded as one of Saudi Arabia’s most significant efforts to expand and enhance services related to the Two Holy Mosques on a global scale.
Under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims continue to be upgraded and modernized. New facilities, advanced technological solutions, and innovative pilgrimage management systems are being introduced regularly to improve the experience of millions of worshippers every year.
By providing Muslims from different parts of the world with the opportunity to visit the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah and perform Umrah, this initiative stands as a shining example of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Islamic service, humanitarian generosity, and the promotion of unity among Muslims worldwide.
