Former Western Provincial Council member Fairooz Haji today signed the nomination to contest the parliamentary election. Significantly, he is loyal to the United National Party (UNP) leadership and party in the Colombo district.
This time the UNP has split the Sajith and Ranil faction and fielded their candidates in the elections. At this stage, Beirut Haji has nominated the elephant symbol on behalf of the Ranil team. Also the senior members of the party, Ravi Karunanayake and Dayagamage, were also present at the event.

ஐக்கிய தேசிய கட்சியானது இம்முறை சஜித், ரணில் அணி என பிரிந்து நின்று தேர்தல்களில் தங்களது வேட்பாளர்களை களமிறக்கியுள்ள நிலையில் பைரூஸ் ஹாஜி யானை சின்னத்தில் களமிறங்கியுள்ளார்.
குறித்த நிகழ்வுக்கு கட்சியின் முக்கிய செயற்பாட்டாளர்களும் சிரேஸ்ட்ட உறுப்பினர்களுமான ரவி கருணாயக்க மற்றும் தயாகமகே ஆகியோர்களும் சமூகமளித்திருந்தனர்.
