The 5th International Conference on Business and Information (ICBI-2014) will be held on 21stand 22ndNovember, 2014. ICBI 2014 aims at bringing the researchers, academicians, practitioners and students together to exchange and share their research outcomes, new ideas, and experiences pertain to dynamic business paternity about all aspects of Commerce and Management.

The Faculty of Commerce & Management studies, University of Kelaniya has organized the International Conference that seeks to provide a platform to assess, review and explore new global challenges of the 21st century with a view to converting these challenges into potential business opportunities.
Mainly, objectives of the conference are, to strengthen the vision and understanding of the upcoming trends in management. to discuss the challenges and opportunities on strategic front for the global competitiveness. to influence the key policy makers to incorporate modern solutions to contentious issues in the development of industry and entrepreneurship as a whole.
1. To improve the capacity of delegates to introduce, implement and advocate the effective management policies and practices in their community and regions.
2. To encourage authentic research work in the applied areas. In 2010 Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies organized the first ICBI in 2010 The Fifth ICBI - 2014

For today’s business around the world turbulence has become the normality and that the businesses seek for innovative solutions to face their peculiar challenges. Uncertainty and dynamism in the business environment and the validity of localized approaches in business has intensively demanded the news for knowledge and practice. However, today we have stepped into an era to dedicate all efforts on innovations, research and practices that can sustain the growth of business in their own contexts. The extended role of universities enabling the science and practice has been a critical factor to sustainable growth of any nation. As it did in the past, the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies of the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka is very pleased to invite all scholars, practitioners, researchers and students to share their research outcomes, findings, innovations, and practices for developing business for sustainable growth.
Objectives of ICBI 2014
1. To provide a forum for the academicians, practitioners and interested students to exchange their research results, practices and innovations with regarding the potential source or ways of sustainable growth and development.
2. To provide an avenue for policy makers and practitioners to expose for the new knowledge to enable excellence in sustainable growth.
3. To established flagship with foreign practitioners to share the experiences of knowledge exploration in global context.
4. To develop stakeholder relationship particularly with the corporate sector to enhance corporate flagship in exploring and dissemination new knowledge and practices.
Structure of ICBI 2014
With the purpose of bringing knowledgeable stakeholders of the university in to a common platform the ICBI 2014 intends to organize two days programmes namely; International student conference (ISCB) 2014 and ICBI 2014. This will be an opportunity for the faculty to server to a larger group of stakeholders. During the day one, preconference workshops are scheduled for public and private sector professionals as well as for students. The day two is dedicated for conference paper presentations.
